4 Best Shows and Movies Starring Seattle Natives

If You’re Sleepless in Seattle, Here’s a List of Shows and Movies to Keep You Entertained

Seattle might be known for its coffee culture, luscious green landscape, and rainy days, but it’s also the hometown of many actors and actresses. While you’re sheltering in place, we’ve put together four of the best movies starring Seattle natives.

1. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then chances are you’ve already seen this 2016 release. If not, then you’re in luck, because this fantasy film will have you on the edge of your seat. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes you back in time to the year 1926. The story focuses on Newt Scamander, who arrives in New York City and meets an assortment of characters that compose the enthralling story. One such intriguing figure is Queenie Goldstein, Newt’s sister-in-law, played by Seattle native Alison Sudol.

2. Scary Movie

While you’re still staying safe by staying home, now is the perfect time for a movie marathon. If you’re in the mood for some laughs and an all-around good time, why not watch the Scary Movie series? Anna Farris, another Seattle native, is best known for her role in the Scary Movie series. This series consists of five films, each poking fun at horror movies and offering a light-hearted scary movie experience.

3. Batman

If you’re a fan of superheroes and DC comic books, you’re sure to enjoy this vintage take on Batman. Adam West, another individual who derives from Seattle, is best known for his role in the Batman television series and 1966 film. He was cast as the lead role after producer William Dozier saw him performing as a James Bond-like spy character in a commercial. This classic series and film follow the adventures of Batman and Robin in their quest to save the city of Gotham from imminent danger.

4. The X-Files

If you’re looking for an epic action-filled television series, The X-Files may be the perfect fit for you. Created by Chris Carter, The X-Files first aired in 1993 and lasted for 11 seasons. Before long, you too will be invested in the lives of FBI Special Agents Mulder and Scully. You will also encounter Dr. John Rietz, a character played by Seattle native John Aylward, in the season nine episode “Sunshine Days.”
